50 Years of Service

The San Francisco Fil-Am Lions Club was chartered on June 2, 1971 as the first Lions Club of Filipino ancestry in the United States. Since then, it's members have gone out far and wide to start and revive numerous other Filipino American clubs within the San Francisco Bay Area, but the club still perseveres, holding to it's roots as a service organization for our communities in San Francisco and the Philippines.

Lions Clubs International

Our 46,000 clubs and 1.4+ million members make us the world's largest service club organization. We're also one of the most effective. Our members do whatever is needed to help their local communities. Everywhere we work, we make friends. With children who need eyeglasses, with seniors who don’t have enough to eat and with people we may never meet.

District Governor Dr. Jun Valera

Our club is honored to have our very own Past President Dr. Augusto "Jun" B. Valera, Jr. MD MJF serve as the District Governor of District 4-C4, which covers the Counties of San Francisco and San Mateo and the City of Palo Alto. Although there are currently Past District Governors within our membership, as well as former members who have become District Governor after moving to other clubs, DG Dr. Jun has the distinction of being the club's first District Governor candidate nominated and elected by the District while serving as a member of the San Francisco Fil-Am Lions Club.

Celebrating our 50th Charter Anniversary, our Golden Jubilee!

We celebrated our Charter Anniversary on November 19, 2021.
